It’s December, and the holiday season is about to get in full swing throughout the Estevan community. If you are looking for some fun ways to spend time with your friends and family this season, there are plenty of activities and events to take part in all over the city. Below you’ll find details about all that Estevan has to offer this holiday season, including our fantastic farmer’s market and the wonderful restaurants you can try all over town!
A great way to start off your holiday shopping is by visiting Estevan’s Farmer’s Market held each weekend at the Estevan Shopper’s Mall located near the corner of King and Kensington. Come check out what all the local farmers and businesses have to offer in terms of fresh food, baked goods, one of a kind crafts and much more! The Christmas sale is going to be held on December 5th and 12th between 10:00am and 2:00pm. In addition to the sale, on December 5th, we will be celebrating the arrival of Santa at the Estevan Shopper’s Mall! This is a great opportunity to spend a fun day with the kids trying some holiday treats at the market before they take a turn meeting Santa. To find out more about upcoming holiday events and attractions at the Farmer’s Market, be sure to check them out on Facebook and like their page to receive the latest updates.
In addition to the craft sale at the Farmer’s Market, you may also wish to visit the Homemade for the Holidays craft sale being held at the Estevan Art Gallery & Museum on December 5th for another great opportunity to find some fantastic homemade gifts for this year.
Quality Holiday Cuisine
The restaurant scene in Estevan has been on the rise over the past few years, making this holiday season the perfect time to head out with friends and family to sample some of the great food the city has to offer. You may want to try the Tower Café on 4th St for some old favourites, or venture further down the street to the Wicklow Café to try some Korean style BBQ if you are in the mood for something different. Estevan also features some great spots for the family to stop in for a meal after a day out shopping or meeting Santa such as Black Beard’s Family Restaurant on 9th St or Original Joe’s over on King St. If you’re looking for a more intimate dining experience, Fired Up Grill on Souris Ave is a great place for dinner for two.
Holiday Train is On Its Way
Having left Montreal on November 27th, the CP Holiday Train is already on it’s way to Estevan. The train will arrive in Estevan at 3:15pm on December 16th, where it will be stopping to collect donations on behalf of the Salvation Army. If you plan to attend, a food or money donation would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to the Food Bank. The whole family can enjoy the bright lights and decorations on the train, as well as a performance by Kira Isabella and Doc Walker on the moving train stage.
